Default Alkalines versus NiMH

The upshot is that when a wireless mike using NiMH cells on live TV
goes south, it screws up your TV show. That's reasonably relevant, I
thought.

You're pretty stupid if you don't charge rechargeable batteries in radio
mics before every live show.

How about dead shows?

And what about rechargables in CB radio?

Somewhat less fun, but much more orderly.

I had a walkie that would take alkalines or rechargeables.
Performance was the same when fully charged. But output was more
uniform until death, lacking the slow decline of alkalines.

Rechargeable life was less than practical for long days in the
field.

A couple decades ago, about 1980, I think it was. I had a
couple CB walkies, and tried using them on nicad AA cells.
The walkies were good for about an hour of chit chat. Not
all that useful.

I got about 2. But then, when I'm in the woods, chit-chat isn't
really what I'm there for.

Well, not exactly. When I go off to the woods it's for the
solitude, the quiet, and a little deep DXing.

Hunting is not really my style, unless food is otherwise in short
supply. Which it can be in January in the North Woods.

I've only had to kill what I eat a couple of times.

And I don't think they'll ever let me in that WalMart, again.
