Washington (CNN) - A majority of Americans have a dim view of the
sweeping health care bill passed by the House, saying it gives
Washington too much clout and won't do much to reduce their own health
care costs or federal deficits, according to a new poll released Monday.

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com...mericans-dont-

like-health-care-bill/?fbid=SrzW3C7j_y

That means the bill is very good. The way politics work is that "Nobody
won".

Look it up!

This bill will help my family considerably. My %^$%#^%$ insurance
company already has been raising my rates constantly, and trying to
give us the runaround. This thing, as odd as it is, will make a
difference in several important salient health-related details, cost
not being a big deal among them.

Bruce

You can fire them, up until Obama signs it into law. Then you are
forced to have insurance or accept government health care.

Too bad, you're forced by Obama to pay someone you hate.

You make it sound like you'll never ever, ever never need health care
for as long as you live. Which is an impossibility, of course. So
just cough up the cash and stop being an idiot about it.

Never...

I will go to Obama-land Prison first.

Where you will pay for food, water, sewer, Cable, clothes and electric
and room and board....

So you're a socialist.

NO... it makes me stubborn, and principled, and expensive for tax payers
like you.

Do you drive without car insurance, or do your principles end there?

Maybe he's like my neighbors down the road. They paid cash for their
house, almost $200K in 1994, and never got insurance. In early 2007, it
burned to the ground, due to an electrical problem in the attic, they
lost 50 years of family pics and everything else they owned. They said
on TV, =3FWe never thought we would need it!=3F. Morons. How cheap do you
have to be to not have homeowner=3Fs insurance? I went by the empty lot a
few minutes ago, and there they were, sitting in their car, like they
usually are. There=3Fs nothing there, so I have no idea why they do this.
Doesn=3Ft matter how bad the weather is, most days, they are sitting there
in the car, or on nicer days, folding chairs.

It appears that they are finally going to start rebuilding soon, as
there are stakes that were put in recently.

And all this changed your life how?

My life didn't change in any way, but it sure changed the lives of the
dopes who lost everything, rather than pay a few hundred bucks a year
for insurance. They're sitting in the driveway this morning, like usual.
Sad, and just weird.

I've only had insurance on one house, my first house that I stupidly got
a loan to purchase.... I never made that mistake again.

So you paid for your trailer in cash? Good for you!

I didn't need insurance on a house "I" lived in, I am a very careful person, but if
you're an idiot.... you may want it.

Only an idiot wouldn't want it. You could have the same issue the people
down the road from me had, some wiring in the attic deteriorated over
the 55 years since the house was built, they never went up there, they
are over 70 years old, so they had no chance of finding it. It
apparently wasn't obvious to their son when he took his stuff out a few
months earlier when he got back from Iraq.

Ever see a house where the water pipe breaks and floods it? That's
happened to people I know too, a long time ago. Ruined just about
everything inside the house, and destroyed a huge model railroad
collection and layout in the basement. The insurance paid up, it wasn't
enough to replace all the train stuff, but it was enough to replace
about 85% of it, and fix the house, of course. It was an older house,
and the pipe that went to the upstairs bathroom just rusted out and
broke. They were gone overnight, and came back to water coming out the
basement windows.

Why would I want to take on risk of your careless lifestyle, also there are people that burn their house
down to get the money, why do I want to be in "business" with that kind.

What are you smoking/huffing now? My only house insurance claim was when
the kid next door shot out two big picture windows with his BB gun. The
insurance paid it, and then sued the next door neighbors, who kept
denying that their kid did it, even though I saw the barrel of his
Crossman BB gun go into the window a second after the hole appeared.
When he got grilled by the insurance company's lawyer, he cracked in a
couple of minutes. His folks paid up, and moved soon after.

Do you think you can win with those people?

Who the hell are you babbling about now?

I never had a fire or any other disaster that was able to destroy the
homes I bought.

You've gambled, and won, so far, good for you. When I was a little kid,
a kid who lived a couple of streets over decided to play with matches
and set the garage on fire. Burned up the car parked in it, and
basically destroyed the garage and kitchen. They had insurance though,
so it only cost them a few hundred bucks. They were lucky that the
neighbors called the FD right away, as dad was passed out asleep after a
big night out on the town and it took a while for the firemen to wake
him up.

Little kids do dumb stuff all the time, like leaving faucets on,
throwing clothes on lamps, etc. Then there's the times where a friend of
your kid comes over and there's an accident. You want to pay for
shoulder surgery, etc, on your kid's buddy out of pocket? A friend of
mine was the kid who got hurt when he tripped on something (Probably a
foot of one of the other kids), and fell and broke his shoulder and tore
it up badly. It wasn't cheap, and if the parents weren't responsible
enough to have insurance, they would have had to pay it out of pocket.
Most people don't have thousands of dollars laying around to pay for a
new house, or a visitor's injury. Ever been bitten by a dog? I was once,
it wasn't a big deal, but later on, that same dog did a real number on
another kid's face. 35 years later, he's got a nasty scar on his cheek.
And no he didn't do anything to the dog, he was at their house, his mom
was best friends with the dog's owner, and the dog just nailed him on
the face.

Think a little, for once in your life. It won't hurt too bad.

I hope you have insurance on your car(s), but you probably don't. Just
like the loser who turned in front of me 7 years ago. It took him five
years to pay off the insurance company after they sued him. I got back
my deductible, since I was his victim. The evil black box in my truck
proved my version of the accident was true, and his, claiming I had no
headlights on, was BS. Twenty years old and owing 33K to the insurance
company is no way to start adulthood. Hopefully, the five years of
payments he made to the insurance company convinced him to at least get
liability coverage.
