![]() Stephen: I think that had the Sat800 been made with more care regarding the material, finishing and the audio, it would have been a superb radio. Personally, I am ready to pay an additional $150 (over its current EBay price of around $350), and get this extra attention to details. However, I am not a production engineer, and do not know whether this is in the realm of possibilities (technically and commercially) or not. My other 2 cents. Best of luck. Well, there is something hedonistic about this series (the 600, and 650), that is rather difficult to explain, and is simply not there in the 800 series. My 2 cents. The Sat 800 is a Lextronics/Drake dev't, while those old ones were engineered in Germany. In other words, they can't have that much to do with each other (apart from the form factor).
