BS:

- ANY president woud've " stood tall" when his country was attacked.
- Any..

Yes, Gore would have stood right up and asked who we could give money to so
the wouldn't be mad at us anymore.

Gosh, Ellis Hennican is so objective!

Fact is, I'll wager a "C" average education GWB managed at Yale, and the
Harvard MBA ("C" is a failing grade there -- he apparently improved) is much
more difficult than many of the "A's and B's" of many of his detractors'
state university educations.

If you can't gather more information faster than reading a

newspaper
there is a problem. On top of the fact that "print doesn't have to

be
a newspaper". I have always gotten better and more diversified news
from shortwave (since 1951) or the net.

Actually, the info in newspapers is usually more in-depth than that

heard on
most broadcasters. The best thing is to read several diferent

newspapers
each
day.

And what does it say about a President if he neither reads

newspapers or
listens to radio? King Bush, the first, was a SWLer, but I've never

heard of
Bush II listening.

It explains why GW knew so little about the world until he got a crash
course in everything after being elected. He's got to be one of the
least intelligent presidents in US history. Everyone on his staff is
smarter than him and they know it. That's why it's easy for them to
manipulate him.

Does George Bush listen to shortwave radio?

Apparently not. Prince Bandar of Saudi Arabia noted that W only gets
news from domestic (US) TV news and from his advisors. He's said that
his advisors tell him everything he needs to know. Considering that both
his dad and Clinton listened to shortwave on a regular basis (I believe
each had a 7600) W is certainly not well informed. "A blind man in a
room of deaf people" -Paul O'Neill on W and his advisors.

david, David. DAVID !

What 'citation' do you have to "Support" Your Subject Line or
the Statements that you have made ?

I used to Read and Newspaper Daily for many years; my father did
and my mother did; and I guess I got the Habit from them.

But one day I got promoted to a very low level job in the GuB-Met
and started getting a Daily Reading File and Message Board.
(We had News Readers and and a whole Section of people who's
Job it was to Keep US Informed using a variety of news sources.)
After "Taking-Care-of-Business" then my Secretary and myself
'shared' the Daily Comics :o)

The President (Who Ever He Is) is Provided on the Critical
Information He Needs to Do the Job of PRESIDENT [.]
More Than That - What Would You Ask of Him ?

The Liberals are simply getting desperate, Desperate, DESPERATE!

Like a drowning man, they will clutch at anything! Now it's the fact (unknown
if it's a 100% fact) that the President doesn't read newspapers!

There's a story going around that both Eisenhower and Kennedy had a
Hallicrafters SX-62 installed on their respective planes. I don't know
if they did any SWLing. They may have just used the radio to listen to
local AM or FM stations as they traveled around. Johnson had a stack of
TVs, each tuned to a different channel. I like the idea that a
president might check the media reports, even if it's just to see if the
public is getting the story right or not.

Bush did state in an interview that he rarely reads much beyond the
headlines in a paper. This was minor news in -early October of last
year- when he actually said it, which makes me wonder if David reads
newspapers.

RHF,

If you were getting the briefings on situations and security that GWB gets
routinely every morning from top experts in every area, you'd think the New
York Times was redundant as well.
