President Kennedy had a Hallicrafters SX-62A installed in Air Force

One,
Johnson most likely inherited it.

My step father was crew chief on Air Force One for a time during the

Kennedy
Administration.

Thanks for the confirmation. Another collector told me Eisenhower also
had a SX-62 on his Presidential plane, as well. Makes sense, it's a
wide coverage radio with good audio power, but I haven't confirmed that
one. I think some guy wrote a book about all the Presidential
airplaines. Maybe I'll see if the library can get ahold of it.

Totally off topic.

Please go to a relevant newsgroup.

Thank you

STINGER,

You are very Correct.

Being "The President" must be an overwhelming 24 & 7 JOB [.]

Preparing "The President" with the Information He Needs to Do the JOB;
must be a monumental task for the members of the various staffs of
several governmental agencies.

It must be 'noted' that "DR" did not make the wild ass claim
that GWB could NOT even Read :o)

I guess from now on, I will simply reply to these type of posts that offer
NO Facts as another "Trumpet Call from the Michael Moore Brigade".

RHF,

If you were getting the briefings on situations and security that GWB gets
routinely every morning from top experts in every area, you'd think the New
York Times was redundant as well.

I used to Read and Newspaper Daily for many years; my father did
and my mother did; and I guess I got the Habit from them.

But one day I got promoted to a very low level job in the GuB-Met
and started getting a Daily Reading File and Message Board.
(We had News Readers and and a whole Section of people who's
Job it was to Keep US Informed using a variety of news sources.)
After "Taking-Care-of-Business" then my Secretary and myself
'shared' the Daily Comics :o)

The President (Who Ever He Is) is Provided on the Critical
Information He Needs to Do the Job of PRESIDENT [.]
More Than That - What Would You Ask of Him ?

Doesn't he want to know what's going on?

What kind of example is he setting for children?

Is he trying to raise a generation of ignorant stooges?

Was that also your motto during the Clinton years ?

"Was that also your motto during the Clinton years ?"

Regardless of Who the Man Is... He Is The President [.]

My Daddy was a Republican and the Secretary of his local Union
for a number of years and My Grandmother (his mother) a "WOBBLY":

Anyway, when I went to work for Uncle Sam as a Civilian on a
Military Base. I was taught as an Apprentice in our Industrial
Relations Training Classes that "WE" were 'civilians' but never-
the-less part of the Military Culture and Society of the Base.

NOTE: About Half of our Civilian Work Force were Military Veterans.

To that end, "The President" was the Commander-in-Chief and
regardless of the Man who was occupying the Office: He Was The
PRESIDENT of the United States of America and We Were All Americans [.]

The Brotherhood (the Apprentices and our Trade & Craft Unions)
understood this Simple Fact: He Was The PRESIDENT of the United
States of America and We Were to a Man or Women Americans [.]
{No Wobblies Allowed !}

I Remain - Proud To Be An American and 'The President' is "MY" President [.]

OBTW: I watched the State-of-the-Union-Speech by 'The President'
to the US Congress; on the TV with the sound 'muted' and the
Sound coming from the my Grundig Satellit 800-M. Some how
'The President' SOUNDS more "Presidential" on the GS800-M :o)

FWIW: Had My Grandson Watch and Listen With ME.

Book Learning ?
We ain't Got NO book learning.
We Don't Need NO Book Learning.
I Don't Have to Show You any Stinking BOOK LEARNING !

But... If You What Me To Show You Some Book Learning then consider this:

* book learning,
Received a Bachelor's Degree from Yale University in 1968.

How did he get into Yale with mediocre high school grades? Hint: His
daddy was a congressman at the time.

* Book Learning.
Was a Military Officer and an F-102 Fighter Pilot in the
Texas Air National Guard.

He used the National Guard to avoid service in Vietnam.

"The first draft lottery was held in December 1969. The intent was
to equalize the disproportionate slaughter of poor, working-class
and minority men and give the educated classes a chance to be
soldiers. There were to be no more student deferments, except
for those in Divinity School; that meant no cover for law
school or any other post-graduate students. Bush, finished
with Yale, avoided the draft by using family connections to jump
over the waiting list and get into the Texas Air National Guard,
where he avoided several months of duty."

He was technically AWOL.

http://www.straightdope.com/columns/030411.html

* BOOK LEARNING !
Received a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business
School in 1975.

SOURCE= http://www.whitehouse.gov/president/gwbbio.html

That's a great unbiased source.

He graduated from Yale with mediocre grades but managed to get into
Harvard Business School. Sounds like daddy was pulling the strings
again.
