My favorite ebay stories are the items I get for much less than what I bid for them. ![]() I understand these points of view--an item is ultimately "worth" what a buyer is willing to pay--but I don't entirely agree in every situation. The fact that somewhat is "willing" to pay a given amount does not necessarily mean that they didn't "overpay" as well from an objective standpoint. That's why I think the situations fall into two camps: (1) those where a buyer appears to bid high for a particular item because it has some value to that particular person over and above some other buyer (and likely where the item has become something of a rarity); and (2) those where the buyer is simply pretty dumb and has in fact overbid for something that's availably for less elsewhere. While I'm not into *complaining* about the people in the latter category, I can see why others like to at least comment on them. |
