I agree, Brian. I find myself skipping over a lot of political threads, particularly those that are excessively cross-posted to other NGs. I'm just suggesting that it might be more realistic to skip over the political threads than it is to take the time replying to each post with a reminder that it is off-topic or of no interest to non-Americans. As a long-time veteran of this group, I am simply aware that no possible rebuke will stop such posts. As a diehard SWLer, I find myself skipping over this newsgroup completely most of the time. Too bad - it used to be such an amazing source of help and information from all over the world. -- Brian Denley http://home.comcast.net/~b.denley/index.html |

Nov 2 isn't that far away. But that is what makes it great, that we have the freedom to air our views whatever they are and debate them back and forth. Not if Patriot Act II is enacted. mike |

Political posts are completely off-topic, period, in this group (regardless of how many posters to or readers of this group are interestedin them). |

But that is what makes it great, that we have the freedom to air our
views whatever they are and debate them back and forth. But this a *shortwave radio* newsgroup not a politcial debate/agenda newsgroup. I delete over 75% of the post because they are non-radio related, I used to post and read this group every day but it's always the same thing. Trouble makers won :-( |

It doesn't take much effort to weed through whatever you don't wish to read. You might try some actual contributions too, never hurts. All take, and no give never works in any endeavour. dxAce |

I will be sure to add a "tongue - in - cheek" disclaimer to my next few posts, so that the humor - challenged will be able to understand.
