First, you're more of a historian if your intention was to inform anyone about a 10 months old blog. Sheesh! Secondly, you're more of a relay of fiction since you have produced no credible evidence other than some one's say so! BTW: It ain't about votes. It's about entertainment first, then it's about breaking the stranglehold that the lunatic fringe has over talk radio. Beating the Weiner Nation in New York is a start. Oh! So now it's also about entertainment. I agree. Those Hawaiians listening to those three AA stations must be rolling off their islands in uncontrollable fits of laughter. |

Franken has just stated on the air that: They are back in Chicago as of Thursday On a horrible, suburban, daytime station that has limited coverage and does not even go on the air till 7:30 AM in winter, and goes off by mid-afternoon. Quote: " Excerpt from this article by Robert Feder, in the Sun-Times on May 3, 2005 (scroll down about halfway): *In anticipation of a format switch under owner Newsweb Corp., WAIT-AM (850) changes call letters today to WCPT (for "Chicago's Progressive Talk"). Picking up WAIT's call letters is Newsweb's WSCN-AM (820). As tipped here in February, expect an announcement any day that the suburban daytime station will become a showcase for the liberal voices of Air America Radio's Al Franken, Jerry Springer and Randi Rhodes along with Jones Radio Networks' Ed Schultz. " They expect to start turning a profit later this year Not likely. Ratings in Portland, which were good to begin with, are up. Ratings in Portland, OR, which were good at the start, are off the mid-2004 peak by 20%. They have now slipped over two successive surveys. The ratings in Portland, ME, are non existent. Take your pick. |

Franken can say just about whatever he wants. That does not however make it true. I can't receive Air America here and I have no soundcard here in this computer. Could someone possibly burn me a standard CD of Air America so's I might be able to hear it first hand? dxAce Michigan USA |

Just the call letters have moved around. 850 is a horrible signal. |

The latest LA rating reported this past week was takes during the wind down of the Xtra sports format to be of any use fin judging the size of the AA audience in LA. Maybe in the city limits, but KTLK doesn't even cover all of L. A. County. Actually, the 5 mv/m primary coverage includes all of LA County except the High Desert (which only one LA station covers well) and most of the OC, all the way down beyond Irvine. It operates with the highest power permissable, 50,000 watts, during daytime hours. It shares the KTNQ transmitter site, and has 5/8 wavelenght towers, making for great efficiency. As far as NYC goes, all I know is what I read in the funny papers (and on the internets). Sources noted above. Those ratings were over a year old. He dosent care, as long as it satifies his agenda. |
