Maybe in the city limits, but KTLK doesn't even cover all of L. A. County. Actually, the 5 mv/m primary coverage includes all of LA County except the High Desert (which only one LA station covers well) and most of the OC, all the way down beyond Irvine. It operates with the highest power permissable, 50,000 watts, during daytime hours. It shares the KTNQ transmitter site, and has 5/8 wavelenght towers, making for great efficiency. As far as NYC goes, all I know is what I read in the funny papers (and on the internets). Sources noted above. Those ratings were over a year old. |

The story is almost a year old:
Sun Jul 18th, 2004 at 22:51:39 PDT Here are the CURRENT ratings: http://www.radioandrecords.com/rrratings Not as pretty a picture is it????? David wrote: Majority Report is the #1 talk radio show in the 25-54 demographic in NYC for its time slot. Majority Report: 2.9 WABC: 2.7 WOR: 1.2 Who does WOR feature in that time slot? Savage and Laura Ingraham. Air America came in as the second-highest-ranked talk network in NYC across the board. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/7/19/15139/9928 |

![]() "David" wrote in message ... http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/7/19/15139/9928 That was the link in the article. That TOTAL snapshot in randr is useless. It is worth exactly what you paid for it. Can you bring something meaningful to the table other than some stupid unsubstantiated blog from nearly 10 months ago? I'm accustomed to radiclibs presenting thousands of ridiculous, fictional claims as fact during my 27 years of residing in the People's Republic of Madison. |

Is someone supposed to glean over the entire blog? Why can't you present something current and meaningful so as to bolster your claim that AA is so popular in NYC or elsewhere? After all, you brought up the claim... Who knows? Maybe AA is as popular as you seem to believe. But I haven't seen anything yet to make me think that it is. I noticed that of their 55 stations three of them are in Hawaii. Are the radiclibs so fearful that they may lose all those electoral votes that they need three outlets there? And that one Alaskan AA outlet surely must cover that tiny state! And two stations in Boston? Are their signal contours so weak that they need two stations to blanket that immense metropolis? Or are they perhaps weak stations in the exoburbs? The AA outlet in my Detroit was the former third-place (at best) full-time sports talker. Not much of a gamble for them to switch formats. There are already too many religion stations here. |

Air America, after a year, is seeing the audience shrink, not grow, despite all the publicity it got. |
