There is a two-component epoxy putty, I have used this to
water-proof/weather-proof different kludges of mine--even to construct
standoff, insulators and unique hardware bits... my latest stash came from
the 99-cent store... "bondo" can also be used from autosupply stores (used
to fill dents in auto bodies) with good success (strength is somewhat
less)...

Warmest regards,
John

Marbles can be used in models with excellent results! However, if forced
to keep using all of mine up... I may end up at a disadvantage... I seem
to have misplaced some already!!!

| My dipole (center) has the usual wire thru a eye bolt and wrapped around
| itself like the arrl manual typically shows.
| My ladder line transitions to the wire itself and is also wrapped around
| questions:
| Rather than soldering it, (thought it might be stiff and break??) I
used
| proper sized wire clamps(w/teeth) [two of them , torqued proper]
| wonder if a good compression fit is OK ?
| Or will corrosion eventually make this a poor connection?
| It's still new enough i could clean it and solder it
| Any thoughts? I would hate to throw off harmonics
|
| Split bolts are used by electricians.
| If you are concerned about corrosion, wrap the joint with good electrical
| tape (rated for outdoor usage - UV and temperature range) - some power
| companies do this for outdoor connections subject to corrosion, etc.
