Steveo,

We have made him aware of the situation and the guy is not in any hurry
to stop using his illegal equipment. DH spoke with a fellow at him job
that know alot about cber cause he use to be one. he knew right off
the bat what the guy was using before dh could say anything. I know he
has the right to use his cb but we have the right not to hear his
conversations. The computer speakers are connected to a dell computer
so nothing cheap here. (I know what you are talking about)

TB Parks is another account I have to post to Google groups.

One conversation was about causing trouble for others on differnet
channels. I have recorded all of the conversations and will forward
them to whom ever I need to.

Is it legal for he the boost power? lenears??!! Maybe this is why we
are having the problem.

As far as I a concerned he can play all day on the cb just don't bother
me with it.

Work with him. Try the frielndly approach first. Maybe he will try to slove the
problem. He might be running power, or he might have a legal power radio that is
hacked and splattering from over-modulation.

Jade, if he is operating ILLEGALLY --- he has NO RIGHTS.

CB radio (the legal kind) is not a right, it is a privilege. Most CBers do not
understand why interference is created or how to fix it. That is why power
amplifers or modified radios are banned for their use. So the only way he
can "work with you" is to cease using his ILLEGAL equipment. Do you think
he will stop if you ask him?

If he won't stop, it IS your right to complain to the FCC and your local
authorities regarding public nuisance charges. Don't let any of the illegal
Bers in this group tell you otherwise.

Well Jade,
That's pretty much the drill.
You have no proof that this guy is running anything illegal.
You might keep saying it, but that doesn't make it true.
You have the obligation to ensure your consumer electronics are not at
fault.
That means adding whatever filtering is needed on your end.
If adding the proper filtering doesn't fix things, then you might have an
issue.
The Fed's already know all about cheap, unfiltered consumer gear.
When you call them, they'll make you aware of it.

Your Dell & speakers are not filtered for this interference.
This goes for your scanner, your toaster and whatever else.

Get your act together and then go after whomever.
Before you can even get someone else involved, they're going to
ask if you applied the correct filtering first. If not, they'll advise you
to
do so and call them back if it doesn't work.

Those are your rights.
Now stop whining & do your part.

The fact that he's transmitting enough power to drive a pair of
speakers at a distance is a pretty good indication that it's a bit
more than 4 watts.

Only if the station is operating legally.

The Feds also know about cheap, unfiltered, Class-C "linears".

Quit making excuses for irresponsible CBers.

Even lowly cb'ers do have some rights.

CBers to not have the right to operate illegally. OTOH, the neighbors
-do- have the right to the peaceful enjoyment of their homes. That's
why almost all residential areas are subject to laws prohibiting noise
pollution and other nuisances.
