Today HF access was officially granted to all former
CEPT class 2 licensees in Austria by decree. Technical problems with the electronic publication had caused us some waiting for this. (Announcement in German on http://www.oevsv.at) But not all is good in Austria: The EU funded BPL project OPERA makes fighting against this form of interference even harder. In my home town, Linz, there is a major roll-out going on, and the utility is taking amateurs to the court for libel if they state their position too clearly. If you are for or against code tests, fighting against BPL should unite all amateurs! /ralph |

Servus, Ralph,
(Siehe EXXON + Mobil Thread). German is accused to be one of the most difficult languages to learn, at least here in Europe. Your translation was not that bad as all. I would be glad to accomplish the same - in italian. Dear Larry, there is nothing to be forgiven for. I have to express my reverence. The referenced reply was meant for a native german speaker, and not for someone with german as second or third language. Please feel free to further reply in german, if this helps to practice your language skills. Practicing these skills is one of the reasons for me to take part in the discussions in the ham newsgroups. Uh oh, Helmut... We have one poster in particular that is adamandt that "we" (Amateur Radio operators) DON'T do anything that resembles the "international goodwill" US regulations say we help to promote. Your post (and Ralph's) disproves it in a big way...idiots or not! =) 73 Steve, K4YZ |

Hi, Steve, old man,
| Uh oh,[is this the way you say "Hi"?] Helmut... I have to admit, you've got me on this one! On the first go, I did not get figured out, what you wanted to express. Please help me to get this straightend out. | We have one poster [a person in this NG, or a picture to stick to the wall] in particular that [did you mean "who",then it is the person; "that" will imply its the picture] is adamandt [a word i've never heard before, nor did my dictionary] that "we" (Amateur Radio operators) DON'T do anything [do nothing?] that resembles the | "international goodwill" US regulations [you mean a law? constitution?] say we help to promote. | I think the key will be an explanation of the word "adamandt", or a substitution for that word. | Your post (and Ralph's) disproves it in a big way...idiots or | not! =) | | 73 | | Steve, K4YZ It is challenging, Steve, will send you the translation, as soon as I know what the paragraph is meant to say. Do quick, I am waiting Helmut |
