Default ...And they just read my letter over China Radio International :-)

I just cannot keep my name off the airwaves these days...

On CRI's "Listener's Garden" an e-mail letter of mine was just read
thanking them for a QSL card and their English listener's magazine.
What fun! :-D

I think they read them because you are the only one left who bothers to
write. They are lonely people.

Myra Oh just read my QSL letter from a couple months ago. *What a nice

Oh lord, one of my questions that was answered over the air was by
none other than Brother Stair....lol...Arnie's show and RCI - these
according to my notes. Lets not count Brother Stair. I think there was
one more but I can't find it. I'll be ready for RNZI tonight! :-)

LONG time ago I had a couple of letters read by Jerry and Dody Cowan
on "His and Hers" (Radio Nederland), by Keith Glover in Melbourne, and
by Lynn Henderson and Charles Gursky up in Montreal at RCI. *I have a
feeling that CRI may have read a letter of mine recently as well, but
I may have missed it.

I heard it Bruce, good deal.:-) That wasn't as sappy as I thought it'd
be...lol...but it was a nice letter. These places really like when you
do that. I always make a point to handwrite a letter and more often
than not I send a postcard from my area - be it the BCB or SW. Was
that Myra singing at the beginning of that segment? Whoever it was has
a beautiful voice. Good job!!

Hi, Gregg - pretty fun :-) *Yeah, the Te Maori music was really
pretty, and lovely vocals. *The DX report from NZ is interesting too -
tough African stations for NAm, they can take for granted. I have not
yet sent any postcards, but I just developed a "SWL" card that I now
send to every station that has full data on the back plus this photo
on one side:

It is a good representation of the natural countryside where I live.

Bruce, I must have missed this post amist all the crap going on in the
group over the last three days.:-) That is a SWEET picture. Hey, if
it ain't broke don't fix it I say. Sure would have been easier for me
in the day to do it that way but I was so new to the hobby.....I just
felt I literally had to convince them I heard them ie; micro cassette
tapes /hand written letters / post cards from my area and lots and
lots of IRC's. I know I had to have sent over three/four hundred
dollars over seas all together in IRC's and cash, I'm sure it made
many happy and sometimes with nothing in return. :-) Live and learn, I
won't do it that way again.

I received a call yesterday from a friend and I have a feeling I'm
finally going to land of fantastic receiver from him free of charge. I
think I may have an idea, but not for sure. But he has worked for the
gubiment over 42 yrs. and has access to things I'm sure I don't even
know about. I think I am going to have to upgrade my antenneeeeers
here shortly. :-) All my fingers crossed!

Yeah, you're just a celebrity nowadays - I don't see how you live with
yourself - Ha!. Between you and Ace I have alot of catching up to do,
I doubt I could ever put in the time to do what Steve has, but who
knows. If I can get everything situated in my room the way I want it
( I use to) and maybe use a couple of pooters I'm not using and put
them into service and dig up my two old coax's and just redo some
things - it will make it easier. We shall see. Congrats on the CRI.
You do know though, you really need to get a life. ;-P

Hey, I represent that. They read mine, though years back. I love
listening to CRI but then when I think of how they "literally" own
this country and all the jobs many americans would have loved to have
had being over there.....I just kind of have to block it out or I
don't enjoy their broadcast - - and SHE IS SOOOO FREEKING NICE and
pleasant to listen to. Damn that CRI. ;-)

They wouldn't own it if we didn't sell it to them. They only did what
any good capitalist would do.

Actually, I have a ridiculously rich life. I have a wife and son with
whom I spend tons of time (just went to his spring band concert last
night - in their new fancy concert hall), go to symphonies, take long
hikes, ride my bike 15-25 miles daily, and I have a full time job!
This radio thing is just a hobby :-)

But good luck on that improved antenna system!

You're just mad because I don't write *you* charming letters ;-)
They read a bunch of letters actually, and many from the U.S. They
run a pretty polished operation there compared to what the old R.
Peking used to be...

Hey, I hope you didn't take offense to that because I sure didn't mean
it that way. I've never done the symphony thing before. I have been to
a real nice concert hall on the campus at the University of
Cincinnati, absolutely beautiful. Me and my Dad just opened the doors
and walked right in before a football game and there were three girls
doing the violine {sp} thing, sounded stunning.

The kids thing (two here) is a full time job in itself. ;-)
