i have the sangean ats-505. its a good radio. the tuning is odd because
it doesnt use a decimal for direct entry of frequencies. the software knows where the decimal is according to the band selected. there is no ssb available on mw even if ssb switch is selected, again the software knows what band is up and disallows the ssb function. it could use a narrow filter but it doesnt provide that. for casual listening this radio is adequate. i got mine for $50 on close-out at rat shack. if i had paid the full asking price then i probably would be more critical. doesnt the sony 7600g come for only a little more than the asking price of the 505? the 505 is a nice radio but if you are very critical or looking for a SERIOUS radio then you could get a better one. |
