I have a hardback book around here somewhere that I bought a few years
ago at the Barnes & Noble bookstore on County Line Road.The book is
about ancient Chinese inventions.The Chinese actually invented many
things that we take for granted.

Yeah,if it's on the radio,it must be true too.That light bulb in my lamp
by my couch popped.That was an unusually good light bulb,it lasted more
than two weeks.Missing in Action III movie has just now started on tv,I
reckon I will watch the movie.On the streets of the Cityyy,,,,,,,,,,

Could it be that in the past 30 years we learned more?

If the Gulf Stream quits bringing warm water to New England and Europe
might they get colder while Equatorial regions get warmer.

Here's clue about Science. It works by having a crowd of people
come up with all sorts of different ideas. Each person or group
comes up with a set, and the rest of the group work to tear it to
shreds. So if you go back a bit in time, before the dust has
settled, you'll find a serious scientist saying JUST ABOUT ANYTHING.

It's not what one scientist says, it's what they select as a consensus.
Listen to one scientist, and you can be listening to a total crank, like
your example in the next paragraph.

Er, she was an Atomic Energy Commissioner and then Governor of the State
of Washington. So put her in the Politician category, not the Scientist
category. (And having been a state employee that that time, not a
very good one, either).

Before that, she was a Marine Biologist and then ran a museum (the
Seattle Science Center). So her expertise was in kelp or worms or
something like that. And ****ing people off. She was real good
at ****ing people off, but not very good at having a scientific
model that made good predictions. In other words, she could say
wrong or stupid things with great certainty.
