The temperature compensation is accomplished with a bipolar transistor
mounted to the sink near the RF devices. You can see it in the photos.
Since this transistor is also silicon, it tracks almost perfectly with
the RF devices... and with a little extra circuitry (that is voltage
regulated)... can hold the bias very stable over a wide temperature
range.

went so far to defend the designs by saying that "Linearity is not
'required' for AM...."; invoking the flywheel effect when there was no
flywheel (tank) in the design; declaring that a 179 degree conduction
angle did not introduce any significant distortion, irrespective of
the low input impedance of the transistors pushing the conduction
angle closer to 120-150 degrees..... and a bunch of other technical
voodoo, hocus-pocus and nonsense. And all the time claiming to be a
professional engineer while dismissing (yet later incorporating) most
any constructive criticism.

Frank, still waiting to see your design... nuff said... LOL

Yes, that is a known technique, was already wondering what that transistor was
for.
Why do you start a new subject line?, It should start with (as you _do_
have a reference line.
Bad usenet practice.

Well, I am looking at the picture.... We i nEurope use metal film resistors

I use both metal film and carbon film resistors...

Sorry, my design is proprietary at this time.

I don't suppose you have a schematic of that available on the web. It
would be neat to see.

I have a dumpster full.

You being a typical clueless CB'er and not able to understand schematics,
it's only natural your dumb ass would toss them in a dumpster.

Let's put it this way, Brian: Ampheads don't care if their signal is
clean or not, just BIG and LOUD. They don't care about biasing or
linearity or thermal protection.... on the contrary, most of them
actually -brag- when they blow a pill or smoke a resistor. In other
words, you are building your product for the wrong market! Since you
obviously failed your business courses, criticism of your designs was
intended to encourage you to pursue either an amateur license or a
professional career in electronics engineering. You have made big
strides in your electronics education in the past few years, but you
are still clinging to the notion of making easy money from illegal
amps. And because of that your "business" has stalled.

Get a -real- job, go back to school, learn all the things about
electronics and marketing that you -should- have learned before you
started this venture, then apply that education in a way that will let
you achieve your financial goals.

And -that-, dear Brian, is MY design.

LOL... how right you are SC. What chance does a guy who admits making
his living in agriculture know about reading a schematic. Absolutely
hilarious...
