Actually, DeWayne, the FRG-7 didn't drift at all -- the reason is
because it was based upon an auto-correcting Wadley loop circuit. If you do a Google search on "Wadley loop" or "Barlow-Wadley" you'll find quite a bit of information about that type of receiver. It was a novel circuit, which afforded terrific accuracy (rare in analog dials on consumer-grade shortwave radios) and zero drift. Randy, WA4FJF "DeWayne" wrote in message ... Didn't those old Yaesu's drift like crazy? I doubt if the SAT 800 would have that problem. And yes, the sync detector is awsome on the SAT 800! DeWayne |
