Even liberal Chicago couldn't support AA. (Did WNTD ever get paid?) Actualy, it was doing quite well, but the contract dispute over the LA station caused the Chicago station (also owned by Arthur Liu) to be lost. Arthur Liu had always been paid in full for the Chicago station -- the now- departed AA management mishandled the dispute over the LA station. If the Guam Republicans had dealt with the matter more responsibly, AA would still be on the air there AND in LA. -- "I am afeard there are few die well that die in a battle; for how can they charitably dispose of anything when blood is their argument? Now, if these men do not die well, it will be a black matter for the King that led them to it; who to disobey were against all proportion of subjection." - W.S. |
