I am *not* bashing W's hurricane performance, but I will address your
"vacation" statement...

Sure, it's a Chavez slam, but it also happens to be true. He (Chavez) is
just quoting the American Public Records of those who keep track of such
things. W does indeed hold the record as the U.S. "most vacationing
president". No bashing, just a simple, straightforward, easily
verifiable, matter of public record "almanac-style" fact. (W earned this
record *before* Katrina, so sort of a Chavez cheap shot).

Come on Bush get off your f****** ass and do some thing.

Funny I dont seen any relief effort coming from any other countries,
including yours.

Wrong. As of today the US has received offers of assistance from Canada,

the
UK, France (!), Germany(!!), Venzuela(!!!), and Israel. There may be a
couple of others, but I forget.

Whats taking so long! The outrage! This is supposed to happen overnight isnt

Keep in mind, bush doesn't write his own speeches. There are speech
writers who do that. And,lots of times, bush is either reading from a
teleprompter/televiewer (whatever they call those gadgets?) or listening
to "his"/somebody else's speech from an earbud.Heck, that MORON bush
couldn't evn debate a nine year old Cuban boy not too long ago.

I have been to New Orleans many, many, many times before.I have walked up
the steps and stood on those Levees before in New Orleans.I turned
around and I looked at those residential houses on the streets down
below me,my feet were as high up on the Levee as the height of the roof
tops of the houses.I turned around again and I looked out over Lake
Ponchartrain. It was Scarey,I can tell you! I got back in my van and I
went to Vieux Carrie (French Quarter) for a while and then I came back
home.I was thinking,I sure am glad I dont live in New Orleans,it is a
wonderfull city to visit, but not for me.My house here in Jackson is
always high and dry.In fact, the side of the street I live on is about
half the height of one story houses higher up than the houses across the
street from me.It would take a hell of a flood to flood my house.

Nail jello to a wall,,, push a chain up a hill? Here is a neat little
trick.Get an empty glass soda pop bottle and find an inside corner of a
bare unpainted concrete/cinder block wall.Bet somebody you can hang the
bottle in the corner.Rub the bottle up and down agains't the inside
corner of the wall.If you do it right, the bottle will stay right there
for a while.Every link of a chain comes to a complete stop as the
link(s) are going around the chain sprockets even though the chain and
chain sprockets are still going around and around and around,,,,,,,,,

I'm afraid you've got it exactly backwards. You need a painted wall for that
one, and I've heard of empty beer bottles staying in place for -weeks-.

I learned that soda pop bottle trick in 1972 when I was going to night
(after my regular everyday time job driving a Sunbeam bread truck route
for Sunbeam Bakery) welding classes on the G.I.Bill at Raymond Jr
College in Raymond,Mississippi, eight miles Southwest from my doggys
couch.I have done the soda pop bottle trick before.I can weld anything
but the crack of Dawn and Dawn was a good auld gal.

Soda pop cans? Here we go again. You can use chocolate to shine up the
bottom of a soda pop can to use as an emergency "magnafying glass" to
get fire started.Take two soda pop cans (beer cans will work just as
good,be sure to drink the beer out first though) and stand one can up on
a table, right at the edge of the table.Lay the other can down on the
floor horizontally, right under the can standing up on the table.Get a
yardstick or tape measure and measure the distance from the top of the
can on the table to the top of the can laying on the floor, write it
down. Then reverse the positions of the can on the table so it is
horizontal and the can on the floor is standing up.Measure that and you
will see a few inches difference.I know the reason why.Do you?
