I lived on a farm in Iowa from the age of 6 months to 10 years old and there was no electricity or running water there. It was kerosene lamps and carry water from the pump. There were electrical lines in the area, just not to our farm. And from the numbers above, I see that I am about 10 years younger than Hans.
